Johan, John, and Peter being swallowed by a wave during Thursday`s race.
@ Brendan Shadford
The week began with lots of sun and heat as many sailors arrived on Saturday the 12th to begin measuring, waxing and re-rigging. A pair of local boys, John Kerr and Peter Norman decided, with encouragement from Hans Fogh, to join in the soling worlds fun with chartering a local boat that was sailed by Johan Offermans. Chartering boats is a difficult task for the sailors but excellent for the boat owner…many times they are returned a boat that is better suited for competitive sailing. There were blocks that had to be replaced, removed, and re-arranged. Eventually Johan arrived on Sunday to view the work in progress…more changes were made and the practicing began! They ended up winning the KC1 Classic Trophy that is awarded to the highest placed boat built before 1980, fixed shroud cars and a colorful spinnaker pole. Finishing 7th over all the Ontario sailors, John and Peter, were greatly appreciative of their European skipper, Johan!
Team CAN 2301 with their bow number.

Hey Ashley, you are right Geronimo received new lines, a new keel fix, a hole was eliminated, the compartiments were sealed properly, my crew learned how to hike on hobbles, etc. Let`s hope Geronimo attends to new waters and races after this event.
